The Executive

Claire and Sharon have lived with their families in East Sussex for many years.

They met through the 'Bexhill on Sea' facebook group, after Claire admired the many brilliant local photographs which Sharon posted for the group.

Ex headteacher, English Consultant and school inspector, Claire, is an experienced public speaker and has always written poetry for family and friends. More recently she has started writing and performing amusing poetry for a wider audience, with rapidly growing popularity. Claire's husband Chris was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes over 30 years ago.

Sharon is a keen amateur photographer. Her photos have been featured on local websites and leaflets and in the local press.

Dear Mrs Baldry,

This just a big thank you from all the members of the Chandlers Ford Civil Service Retirement Union for your Presentation "Poetry by Claire" on 5/12/2014, at our December meeting. Everybody I spoke to said how much they enjoyed it. Without being condescending, you must be a very clever person to write such humerous, witty and insightful poetry! You yourself came across as a warm, generous, nice lady and your presentation of your poems was excellent. Obviously people must compare you to Pam Ayres, and all I can say is that I personally thought you were equally as talented as she is! ( I hope it is O/K to make this comparison!) I would not hesitate to recommend you to any organisation looking for a speaker who will not dissapoint.

                                                     Warm regards,

                                                     Bob GOFF.

                                                     Speakers secretary.

I like to rhyme, more even than most performance poets....strong lyrical rythmn. I play with the structure for ages, and even then I am not satisfied. Sometimes I just have fun,  or describe, or laugh, and sometimes I like to combine a really serious idea with very traditional rhyme. I like the contrast.
